Powering Up Your Mave

The app will walk you through exactly what to do for your first session, so you don't need to memorize anything here. But for whenever you need a quick reference, let's get familiar with how your device wakes up, charges, and communicates with you.

The Dock (And How to Charge)

Your headset comes resting inside its custom dock. When you open it up, you will see the device sitting perfectly in place.

It is important to know that the dock itself does not hold a battery charge. To actually charge the headset, you need to plug the charging cable into the dock, and place the headset inside the dock.

  • Charging: While the headset is actively charging in the plugged-in dock, the LED will breathe amber.
  • Fully Charged: Once it reaches 100%, the LED will turn solid green. A full charge takes about an hour and will last for up to 28 complete sessions.

Waking It Up and Connecting

When you are ready to start your session, simply take the headset out of the dock and click the power button. You don't need to hold it down, a single click wakes the device up.

Once it is awake, the headset uses a white light to tell you if it's ready to talk to your phone:

  • Ready for your session: If your headset is already paired to the app, it will gently "breathe" a steady white light. You are ready to connect.[Animated mp4: Headset LED gently fading in and out, showing the 'breathing' steady white light]
  • Ready to pair: If you haven't paired the device yet, the white light will mimic a heartbeat (a quick double-blink, a pause, and a single blink).[Animated mp4: Headset LED showing the 'heartbeat' sequence - two rapid white blinks, a pause, one white blink, and a longer pause]
  • Need to manually pair? If you ever need to connect to a new phone, just press and hold the power button for three seconds until you see that heartbeat light. The headset will give you a few minutes to connect via the app before it settles back into the gentle breathing light.

Reading the Battery Indicators

Your headset will communicate its current battery status through the LED light. If you are running low on battery, here is what the device will show you:

  • Battery Low: The LED will display 4 white blinks, a short pause, and then 2 amber blinks.

  • Battery Critical: If the battery is completely depleted and cannot run a session, it will flash red 8 times and immediately go back to sleep.
