Care and Storage
Your Mave headset is built to be a part of your routine for years, and a few small habits are all it takes to keep it that way.
A Few Good Practices
- Keep your headset in the dock when not in use. It's the easiest way to keep your headset safe from dust and the odd accidental knock.
- Wipe down the electrode area after each session. The saline from the pads can leave a faint salt residue. This is not harmful, but a soft cloth (dry or slightly damp) before your next session keeps everything clean.
- Loosen the strap before wearing the headset. Tugging the strap strongly while it's still tight can wear the device down over time, so a quick loosen first goes a long way.
- Keep your headset somewhere dry and at room temperature. It's happiest away from direct sunlight, heaters, and humid spots like the bathroom.
- Handle your headset gently, the way you'd treat any electronic device. Set it down on a stable surface rather than perched on an edge, so there's less chance of it slipping or taking a tumble.
A Few Things to Steer Clear Of
- Keep your headset away from water. Don't use it near water, and don't store it in humid places like bathrooms.
- Try not to run the battery all the way down. Charging it before it's completely empty keeps the battery healthy for the long haul.
- Don't bend or twist the headset or the dock. Both are built to hold their shape, and forcing them can damage the parts inside and out. When the dock cover is open, avoid leaning or pressing on it.
- Skip the harsh stuff. No sharp objects, alcohol-based cleaners, or solvents on the pad holders or mainframe. A soft, slightly damp cloth is all it needs.
